Making a Presentation

We hope that you'll consider making a presentation to a local group.

You might want to start with a small group in a home setting. You'll find that you can depend on the video to explain the essential concepts and to sell the idea to your group.

Your part is to introduce the DVD and, after the viewing, to read from the materials below. You will not be expected to answer questions for which we haven't provided answers.

We can also train you to be more comfortable and effective as a speaker, and provide materials. Many of our members have done it! See calendar for the next training session.

If you feel that you'd rather have a guest speaker, we'll be happy to provide one, time and availability permitting.

Some of us have successfully used the following outline for a meeting:
    1. Explain what you are going to do.
    2. Show a DVD on public financing of campaigns (see below).
    3. Pass out a sign-up sheet.
    4. Describe what we are doing here in the State of Washington.
    5. Discuss, based on questions and comments from the audience.
    6. Solicit donations to help with our ongoing efforts.
    7. Have guests sign the Clean Campaigns petition.
Here are some materials that will help you prepare for your presentation:
