John
King,
Board President
A
Washington native and a lawyer in private practice in Seattle,
Mr. King
is chair of WPC's Policy Committee, which is primarily responsible
for the group's legislative affairs. He has been a naval officer,
counsel to U.S. Senate committee, and a law school adjunct professor.
Active on boards and committees of various civic groups, he
is a former president of the Arthritis Foundation's Western
Washington chapter and a recipient of the national Arthritis
Foundation's distinguished service award. Father of three grown
children, his current hobbies include playing basketball
and composing aphorisms.
Roger Erskine, Vice-President
Terry
Sullivan,
Secretary, Board of Directors
Mr. Sullivan has a B.A. in Urban Planning, a professional background
in homedesign and carpentry, and now owns a fine woodworking business.
A local community activist and Peace Corps veteran, he has helped
found four organizations: Washington Public Campaigns; Vashon
Household, a low income housing advocacy and development organization;
a Vashon Island teen center; and an alternative school program.
John
F. Howes,
CPA,Treasurer
Mr. Howes is a Certified Public Accountant who manages a tax and
business consulting practice in Vancouver, Washington. He also
serves as treasurer for both a nonprofit and a political action
group in Vancouver. He holds a B.A. degree from New York University.
He is a former Chair of the 17th Legislative District Democrats
and has been involved in various
capacities with political campaigns at the local, state
and federal levels.
Jean
Carlson
Jean Carlson has been a civic activist since the early '70's,
for Seattle Public Schools and state funding
of education, with the League of Women Voters on statewide issues,
and locally on the Madison Park Community Council. Currently she
is Publicist for WPC.
Ken
Dammand 
Ken
has served the citizens of his home town, Everett, as a firefighter,
paramedic and fire captain
for the past 26 years.
He’s been active in Firefighter’s Local 46 and various neighborhood
community groups. In his previous lives he was the drummer
in the 60’s era rock band Fragile Lime, a reluctant soldier, a
scholar (Ph.D. in developmental psychology from SUNY Stony Brook
in 1979), an adjunct professor, dish washer, and just about everything
in between.
Ken
posts his political commentary and poetry at kendammand.com and
hopes to write more after retirement. He comes to
the Board of WPC out of concern about a government, at both the
State and Federal level, in which elected officials must consider
past and future political campaign contributions more heavily
than the overriding mandate to do the greatest good for the greatest
number of citizens.
Brian
Gunn
Brian, an Information Technology specialist, has
been active
politically
on many fronts, including doorbelling and phonebanking for candidates
and state initiative campaigns. He's organized several volunteer
events through Democrats Work, including environmental restorations,
packing food at food banks, and helping with maintenance of homes
used as shelters for homeless families.
Brian's advocacy of campaign
finance reform includes lobbying in Olympia for the Supreme Court
clean elections bill, a representative of the Washington State
Democrats Progressive Caucus. He's helped organize (and moderate)
a WashClean-sponsored speakers forum in Tacoma on health care
reform. Brian is the father of a senior year student at Washington
State University. 
Don
Mitchell
Don is a retired physician, previously in private practice in
Renton. He is active in Physicians for a National Health Program,
a national organization that advocates for single payer health
care in the U.S. Expanded and Improved Medicare for All.
He is currently the chair of the Western Washington chapter of
PNHP.
Annie
Phillips
Ms. Phillips is an environmentalist and small business owner.
She has a B.A. in Mass Communications and worked for several years
for the Washington State Department of Ecology designing and implementing
environmental communications and education programs. She now owns
a Seattle bed and breakfast
inn and participates in local Puget Sound election reform and
peace groups.
Marcella
(Marcee) Stone
Marcee'
s community activism began in 2002 with ReACTION (Residents Against
Cell Towers In Our Neighborhoods). She is a PCO and King County
Committeewoman from the 34th District Democrats, and an Obama
delegate to the State Convention. She has participated in candidate
trainings with the White House Project and Camp Wellstone. Former
Chair of the Parent Education Program for Seattle Academy Parent
Association, she organized parent educational forums. Marcee has
worked in legal administration for many years and is currently
with a downtown Seattle law firm. A graduate of the University
of Washington with a B.F.A. in Drama and the proud parent of a
senior at The Evergreen State College. Marcee served as WPC Board
president until early 2010, when she stepped down to run for elective
office.
Alice
Woldt
Alice Woldt is currently doing special projects work for several
non-profit organizations. She has served as the Public Policy
Director for the Washington Association of Churches (WAC); directed
the Seattle Alliance for Good jobs and housing for Everyone (SAGE);
and on the executive staff of the Church Council of Greater Seattle.
She lives in the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle. She is known
in the larger community for her activism on many peace and justice
issues.

Craig Salins,
Executive Director
A native of Seattle, WA, Mr. Salins has
an extensive background in program planning, grant writing, community
organizing and public policy work. A former
VISTA Volunteer and Head Start director, he has directed advocacy
organizations on consumer issues, economic cooperatives, and health
care reform.
He
has been a workshop presenter and occasional consultant on grant
funding and legislation at national and state conferences for
the Day Care & Child Development Council of America, the Consumer
Federation of America, and the Universal Health Care Action Network.
He has served on the boards of Seattle's Pike Place Market Preservation
and Development Authority, the Puget Consumers Co-op, the Central
Area Motivation Program, and for four years during the 1970's,
the New Jersey Governor's Advisory Committee on Social Services.
For
several terms, he chaired the Issues Committee for the Washington
36th District Democrats and led lobbying efforts in Olympia on
behalf of the King County Democrats Legislative Action Committee.
In 1993, he co-founded the Washington Single Payer Action Network
and led the organization as volunteer president/director for four
years, during which time a statewide conference was held (1996)
drawing national leaders and 350 participants.
He
is a proud member of Carpenters Local 816, and for many years
has worked part-time as a remodeling contractor and carpenter
- allowing time to organize for issues he cares about, including
Clean Elections!
In
his own words: "Until we achieve Clean Elections, we won't
see significant progress on the bread and butter issues that concern
most Americans, such as affordable health care for all, full funding
for education, living wages, safety on the job, sustainable energy
policies, respect for small business and family farms, and an
environment
we can proudly leave to our children."

Dina designs websites, promotional materials, book layout, and
other graphics. She also does illustration, digital photography,
